San Diego Chargers (-3.5) over Kansas City Chiefs

The Chargers are the only “favorite” that we are backing this week, but they are being disrespected in some circles. San Diego opened as a 6-point favorite at home in this game, but that number has dipped to just 3.5 on the heels of strong action in favor of Kansas City, and I just can’t see the reasoning.

Outside of a dominant performance against the New England Patriots in a national TV spot, there is little to brag about when it comes to the 2-3 Chiefs, and on the road against the red-hot Chargers, they’ll need to be near perfect to spring the upset. San Diego QB Philip Rivers is basically impossible to wager against at this point while playing the position better than virtually anyone in football right now, and on the heels of five consecutive wins, there is little logic to picking Kansas City outside of the fact that San Diego is “due” for a loss.
