No. 24-21

24. Derek Carr – Oakland Raiders

Of all the rookie QBs to see time this season, Carr has been far and away the most impressive. Keeping in mind that I’m a die hard KC fan, it is with absolutely NO pro-Oakland bias that I say that Carr may end up being the best QB from the 2014 draft. While Bridgewater and Bortles have combined for six TDs and fifteen interceptions, Carr has bucked that trend with eight TDs and just five INTs on his stat sheet. He’s also done that with a less than spectacular supporting cast. If the Raiders can build an offense around him, they may be a force in years to come.

23. Mike Glennon – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Every week that passes, the fact that the Buccaneers delayed Mike Glennon’s development this offseason by committing 100% to journeyman free agent Josh McCown seems more and more ridiculous. While Glennon isn’t perfect and still has some developing to do, the guy does have 26 career TDs to just 12 INTs. That’s promising enough that the Bucs should go all in on Glennon and see how he responds.

22. Ryan Tannehill – Miami Dolphins

Ryan Tannehill was one of my top picks to have a break out season in 2014. Thus far, it hasn’t happened. I really believed that once Miami got a few NFL caliber linemen to protect Tannehill that his numbers would jump up amongst the best in the NFL. While Tannehill hasn’t been bad by any means (10 TDs to 5 INTs) he hasn’t really established himself as a QB to fear either. The key to the Dolphins offensive success this season is their running game.

21. Andy Dalton – Cincinnati Bengals

After the first few weeks of the season I thought that Hue Jackson might just be able to get Dalton playing well enough to get him moving up the ranks of NFL QBs. However, these past few weeks with star WR AJ Green out Dalton has looked very pedestrian. If the Bengals want to be a true power in the AFC they need Dalton to be more than just “okay”. They need him to take a step forward and be a top 10-15 QB in the NFL. He’s just a little short of that right now.
