5. Andrew Luck, Quarterback, Indianapolis Colts

Andrew Luck still remains on this list after a tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8, but he has powered the Colts to being one of the best teams in the AFC. There have been some concerns about his interception total, but it is not enough to bump him out of being in the MVP discussion.

Through eight games so far this season, Luck has thrown for 2,731 yards, 22 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He has also run two touchdowns into the end zone and has 124 total yards on the ground. Without Luck, the Colts simply wouldn’t be the type of team that they are, and they certainly wouldn’t be considered as potential contenders to win the AFC despite the dominance that the Denver Broncos have shown.

He likely won’t end up winning the award, but he certainly deserves to be in the conversation at this point in time. Indianapolis is a legitimate contender in the AFC, but they need Luck to continue playing at a high level and improve his turnover tendency a bit. Despite all of that, he is definitely a name to keep an eye on in the MVP conversation.
