Alex Smith – Kansas City Chiefs

You can debate whether or not Alex Smith is a “great” quarterback, but for my money, if all you do is lead teams to wins, then you deserve to be on this list.

Smith may not be the flashiest QB, but he’s tough and gritty and knows how to win games. He won a lot with the 49ers, and he’s going to continue leading the Chiefs to a lot of wins every year.

Unfortunately, he’s been blessed/cursed with a coach, Andy Reid, who is like Super Bowl kryptonite, and is surrounded by a team who has just enough talent to win, but not enough to win against the best teams.

Smith will take his place on the list of all-time great Kansas City quarterbacks if he stays there, but hoisting the Lombardi won’t be one of his duties.
