While playing for the
, wide receiver Percy Harvin was known as an explosive play maker who had off-of-the-field issues and had trouble staying healthy.
Now that he is in his sixth season, his reputation is exactly the same, potentially worse. He reportedly has gotten into it with his Seahawks’ teammates, which is the biggest reason the Seahawks wound up dealing him to the Jets for a conditional draft pick after giving up a first-round pick and a seventh-round pick in the 2013 draft and a third-round pick in the 2014 draft to acquire him from the Vikings.
Now that Harvin is on his third team, he says he is at peace with his career.
“I’m at peace,” said Harvin via Danny Knobler of ESPN New York.
Although the Jets’ got a 20-13 upset victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, they are just 2-8 and have no chance at the potseason. Despite their poor season, Harvin sounds like he’d rather be in New York than Seattle.
“I absolutely like it,” he said. “I’m enjoying myself. My family is loving it. I’m loving the teammates. It’s all been good. It’s been very smooth.”
He reiterated that he is currently at peace.
“I’m just at peace,” he said. “I’m just able to come in and play football and not worry about the outside stuff. I’m loving it right now. It’s been all peace, and all good for me.
“I’m all good.”
Harvin has 39 receptions for 307 and no touchdowns to go with 11 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown on the season.
