The Armchair Quarterback’s Guide To The NFL: Week 11
Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns (*The Armchair Quarterback Lock of the Week*)
Here’s the bottom line for the match up between the Texans and the Browns. Ryan Mallett is making his first ever NFL start for Houston and he is doing it on the road against a team that has held opposing QBs to the lowest average QB rating in all the NFL and also have the lowest completion percentage allowed in the league. That doesn’t sound like a good match up for a QB making his first ever start.
Texans 17
Browns 24
Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers
While the Panthers looked like a shell of the team they were last season against the Eagles last week they have had some recent success at home against the Falcons. The last two match ups in Carolina were both won by the Panthers and by an average margin of victory of 17 points. Plus, the Panthers have had trouble protecting Cam Newton, but the Falcons have the second lowest sack total in the NFL and are allowing the most passing yards per game of any team in the league. This looks like a good match up for Cam Newton to get some confidence back.
Falcons 27
Panthers 30
