Lance Stephenson has added to the list of his moments gone viral, as he appeared to actually slap himself in the mouth and then flop in the efforts to draw a foul on Saturday night as the Charlotte Hornets took on the Golden State Warriors.

The NBA is the home of some world-class flopping. The league has tried to take measures to curb this practice. Those measures have not worked. Flopping is rewarded frequently enough that it’s worth the risk. It is worth the risk even if one has to slap himself in the face and then flop for effect.

Lance Stephenson is actually a very good NBA player. Most people know that. But boy, he makes it easy to forget sometimes. The issues range in their nature, but the man sometimes known as “Sir Lance-a-lot” is often an entertaining figure for unflattering reasons. Also, he flops a lot.

This is probably his finest work in that regard yet. Harrison Barnes bumped into Stephenson’s arm, triggering the instinct to draw a foul because basketball players never touch each other, ever. The dramatic flop was going to happen no matter what, but because of the way that Barnes caught his arm, Stephenson popped himself in the mouth before going down like he was shot.

Here is the video of Stephenson’s fine, fine moment below:
