Atlanta Falcons (+2.5) over Arizona Cardinals

This line makes no sense, and that makes me want to take the Falcons.

Arizona is 9-2 (the best record in the NFC) and in control of their division, but they are laying less than a field goal in Atlanta this week. The public has already weighed in on the side of the Cardinals, and that shouldn’t be a surprise, but the Falcons have quietly played much better recently, especially if you ignore the clock management disasters by head coach Mike Smith.

More than anything, this is a blind play because Vegas is smarter than you and I. Atlanta has a noticeable home-field advantage and has for some time, and with Drew Stanton prominently involved, that cannot be overstated. The Falcons are in desperate need of a win to keep their NFC South hopes alive (somehow, they still are), and this is an organization that actually cares about that sort of thing despite a 4-7 record.

Close your eyes. Take the Falcons. Profit.
