There’s not much more embarrassing in basketball than getting your shot rejected. Of course, there are varying degrees in regards to how your shot is blocked. Is it just grazed by the finger tips of a defender? Or is it emphatically declined right back into your face?
For Kendrick Perkins of the Oklahoma City Thunder, it was the latter thanks to New Orleans Pelicans emerging superstar Anthony Davis.
The former Kentucky Wildcat product who can seemingly do no wrong on either side of the court has emerged as a defensive force, something Perkins apparently missed the memo on. He’s likely well aware of such now though after Davis unleashed a nasty block on him during Tuesday’s game.
With Perkins attempting to post up Davis (which is mildly hilarious by itself), the Thunder center attempted to go up for a shot but awaiting him was Anthony Davis’ absurdly long arms and massive hands. They immediately met with the ball and Davis stuffed Perkins like a high school talent playing a third grader.
I mean, that was full on palm on ball. You aren’t going to see a much cleaner block.
One day Kendrick Perkins will eventually learn he’s not much of an offensive player though it seems as if Anthony Davis was attempting to help him figure such out.
