Barack Obama Soon To Be Romantic Movie Star
The romance story of Barack and Michelle Obama will head to the big screen in Southside With You.
If you thought Hollywood was out of ideas before, wait until you hear their next big idea. In a testament to modern politics, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama will have their love story forever captured in Hollywood glitz in the near future. Yes, Southside With You will tell the story of how a young Barry Obama met Michelle Robinson while the former was in the midst of his first year at Harvard Law. How is that for entertainment?

Is anyone at all really surprised? If Ronald Reagan was making movies before he stepped into the oval office, then the reverse should be possible too, right? The President of the United States and First Lady are not actually going to be playing themselves, but it would be nice to dream. Can you imagine the Obamas trying to act? How about any politician trying to act, for that matter?
"“I took her to this new movie that everybody was talking about, directed by a guy that not that many people had heard of, but it was supposed to be pretty good,” Obama recalled during the film’s 25th anniversary celebration this summer. The site of the Obamas’ first kiss – curbside, outside a Baskin-Robbins in Chicago’s Hyde Park – was commemorated with a city plaque in 2012."
The name Southside With You sounds about right for the desired effect on audiences; your standard romantic comedy fare. However, one could not help but think of some more appropriate (and by that, we mean clever) titles. There is always the obvious “When Barry Met Shelly.” How about “The Future First Couple?” Okay, that second one is pretty weak. But clearly there are better titles out there.
Regardless, we should look forward to having no strong feelings one way or another towards this movie, like most films in the genre.
