ECHL’s Reading Royals Wore Ugly Sweater Jerseys

This minor league team hosted their annual Ugly Sweater night on Saturday night, and even skated out in their very own Ugly Sweater jerseys — something they’ve been known to do in the past, making them the ultimate ugly sweater trailblazers.
In amidst all the mumps talks and terrible rap videos being put out by the San Jose Sharks, this is easily the greatest thing to happen to North American hockey this holiday season.
The team gave away jersey replicas, which — according to CBS hockey writer Chris Peters — look perfectly wearable with a pair of khakis. He suggests that the irony of ugly sweaters coming back into fashion is that they’re getting ‘classier’ every year, but… uh…
Has he seen the San Jose Sharks Christmas video? Or, for that matter, Phil Kessel’s ugly sweater?

I’m pretty sure that any team that wears an ugly Christmas sweater on the ice deserves a win.
