Chargers S Eric Weddle Transforms Into ‘Weddle Claus’ For Holiday Season
San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle decided to dye his beard white just in time for the holiday season.
Just because you play in the National Football League, does not mean you have to be a holiday grouch. Such is the attitude of the normally mundane Chargers safety Eric Weddle. This holiday season, he decided to add some Christmas spirit to the field, and it comes in the form of dyed facial hair.

All it takes is a bottle of white beard dye, and some patience. Weddle would appear to have both in spades. Taking a page out of Brian Wilson’s and James Harden’s books, he has transformed himself into something much greater than an ordinary safety. For you see, he is no longer the one they call “Eric Weddle.” He is now “Weddle Claus;” bringer of interceptions to naughty quarterbacks.
Though it would appear that Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos were on the nice list this week, Weddle Claus will bring his holiday judgment to the San Francisco area this coming Sunday. With just 1 interception on the season thus far, he is hungry for more.
In a weird sort of way, this kind of puts the ball in the aforementioned Harden’s court. The NBA has Christmas day games. It is a shame though that the league is missing out on a golden opportunity for “Harden Claus,” as the Houston Rockets closest game to that date is Monday, December 22nd. At least we have Weddle Claus. And it is certainly better than nothing.
