Do you ever the the impression Evan Turner seems to think he’s better than he actually is? Sure, he holds the prestige of being the former No. 2 overall pick, but Turner has morphed into a solid role player and not the franchise star so many had hoped.

There’s nothing wrong with that though Turner can at times ruffle the feathers of some with his comments. That includes fans of the Philadelphia 76ers organization who supported the swingman for a handful of seasons before he was traded to the Indiana Pacers last year.

Now a member of the Boston Celtics, Turner made his return to the City of Brotherly Love and that was the last thing on fans minds as they booed the former Ohio State star. Did it bother Turner? Apparently not, judging by his postgame comments.

“I don’t worry about it anymore. I don’t want to sound super weird, but Jesus was hated too. At the end of the day, I just worry about the stuff that’s important. If it makes you happy to boo me, go ahead. I’m still happy. I put all that stuff behind me.”

It’s been said that if you’re not being booed by opposing fans, you’re not doing your job. That’s a sentiment many would agree with, though it seems as if there was more animosity and frustration behind the boo’s directed at Turner than in reflection to his game.

The forward had the last laugh of the night though as his Boston Celtics dismantled the Sixers with relative ease while Turner finished the night scoring in double-figures.
