Martellus Bennett doesn’t think the Chicago Bears are playing with passion

After losing to the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football, the Chicago Bears remain under scrutiny for their play. Veteran tight end Martellus Bennett said in an interview after the game that he didn’t feel guys were stepping up and playing with passion.

Bennett wouldn’t out anyone specifically, but if you have been watching the Bears this season, you can determine for yourself who he may or may not have been referring to. The Bears have been on the receiving end of many blowouts and it is definitely apparent that changes are needed in Chicago.

Head coach Marc Trestman looks lost on the sideline and so does his team. Jay Cutler looks indifferent on the field as his team struggles and you can see the frustration of many players like Bennett boiling over. This is a franchise that doesn’t accept losing seasons.

After Offensive Coordinator Aaron Kromer went on the record and made disparaging comments about quarterback Jay Cutler, for which he later apologized, changes lie ahead for the franchise. Standing at 5-9, a losing record for the Bears is guaranteed. Games against the division leading Detroit Lions and a young solid Minnesota Vikings team will provide ample opportunity for players vying to make a statement.

The last two games should determine which players want to remain with team, as players will be likely fighting for jobs whether it be with the same regime or a future one that comes into Chicago.
