The Armchair Quarterback’s Guide To The NFL: Week 16
San Diego Chargers at San Francisco 49ers
Sometimes when trying to pick games you go with the numbers and other times you go with a gut feeling. This one is a gut feeling game for me. I know that the 49ers have been really bad of late, but there are enough talented players on that roster that I have a hard time imagining that they are just going to lay down and give up on the final two games. While the 49ers offense has been out of sync, their defense is still very good and the strength of that defense is their pass defense. If the 49ers can slow down Philip Rivers and the Chargers passing game they should be able to pull off a close win.

Minnesota Vikings at Miami Dolphins
This game is an intriguing match up of two young QBs that may just be future stars in the league. Obviously Ryan Tannehill has a few years head start on Teddy Bridgewater, but both appear to have promising futures. The two teams defenses are giving up nearly the exact same points per game (21.2 for Min. and 21.5 for Mia.), but the Dolphins average about four points per game more on offense. With the game being in Miami and Tannehill having the edge experience wise I’ll take the Dolphins in a very evenly matched game.
