The Kansas City Royals lost the World Series this year to the San Francisco Giants, but that hasn’t stopped misleading World Series champion shirts to emerge.

The Kansas City Royals are having pretty decent offseason in wake of their World Series loss this past season to the San Francisco Giants. It’s not that the team lost in the World Series that fans are remembering, it’s the magical run from worst to almost-first that fans are commemorating in any way they can.

An interesting way that the doomed World Series run is being celebrated is being seen in the high interest fans have in misleading T-shirts that seem to just get people’s hopes up.

One fan stopped by a store in Joplin and noticed something a little but off about the shirts that were being sold in the Royals section of the store. Despite losing the World Series this year to the San Francisco Giants, a World Series Champions shirt for the Royals has mysteriously and erroneously appeared in a Joplin store.

You’d think this might hurt Royals fans and pick at an old scab that is finally starting to heal. That’s not the case though as fans have apparently flocked to this store to get one — which might be why they were ‘accidentally’ released.

In case you’re wondering how these could have possibly been released, there are always two championship shirts drawn up each year in each sport to make sure a proper amount are pre-made and ready for immediate sale.

Usually these get shipped off to third world countries, but in this case some were shipped off to Joplin. Royals fans clearly don’t seem to mind though, in fact it’s become a hot ticket items for a slew of last minute shoppers across Royals country.
