5. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

4,155 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, 255 rushing yards

Aaron Rodgers has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league this season and has the Green Bay Packers in position for another deep playoff run and possibly Super Bowl run.

Rodgers, however, doesn’t deserve the MVP.

I’m going to jump on Bill Simmons’ band wagon from his B.S. Report with Cousin Sal, and give you Simmons reasons why Rodgers isn’t the MVP!

1. Rodgers threw 10 of his 36 touchdown passes against the Chicago Bears.

Rodgers is a Bear-slayer, obviously, but that doesn’t make him the MVP.

2. Rodgers threw 26 of his 36 touchdowns against teams with a losing record.

No words for that.

3. Against Seattle, Detroit, Buffalo, Tampa Bay and New Orleans, Rodgers threw for 3 touchdowns and four interceptions.

The MVP has to show up in more than ten games of regular season. That’s a given.

Don’t get me wrong here! I’m not trying to diminish anything Aaron Rodgers has done this season. He hardly ever throws interceptions or makes mistakes, but I don’t think an MVP disappears against good defensive teams.

Plus, Rodgers has the most weapons of anyone in consideration for MVP. Eddie Lacy, Jordy Nelson, and Randall Cobb are ridiculously good.

Rodgers will probably win the MVP award because he embodies what we think an MVP should be, a quarterback who throws for a lot of touchdowns, yards, and few interceptions.
