Micah Hyde Burns Lions On Punt Return, Packers Take 7-0 Lead (GIF)

Micah Hyde has given the Green Bay Packers a 7-0 lead after a huge punt return for a touchdown. 

The Green Bay Packers are trying to win an NFC North title and lock up the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, and so far it’s been all positives against the Lions thanks to a Micah Hyde punt return for a touchdown.

Hyde returned the punt just a drive after the Detroit Lions stifled the Packers on the goal line and keep the score all knotted at 0-0. That all changed though when Hyde housed the Lions next punt, burning through the special teams for a play that may come back to cost the Lions in the end.

Unlike last year, where the Packers and Bears were playing for keeps and the last playoff spot in the NFC, the Lions and Packers are both already in the postseason. A loss for Detroit does not cost them a spot in the playoffs, rather it would bump them down from the No. 2 seed to the Wild Card round and a game next weekend.

Hyde’s punt return didn’t win the game for the Packers, but it sets them up with an advantage that Aaron Rodgers won’t be simply giving away any time soon.
