Cyclist Jeremy Roy avoids a huge crash (Video)
By Dave Fuqua
Watch the video as cyclist Jeremy Roy miraculously avoids a huge crash in the Tour Down Under.
Jeremy Roy was riding in the Tour Down Under with a camera attached to his bicycle and caught some pretty amazing footage of him escaping what turned out to be a pretty nasty crash. Even Roy himself is amazed that he was able to escape without becoming part of the crash.
The bikers were all gathered together as they were just a few hundred meters from the finish line and they were in a sprint, when something happened and caused nearly the entire field to go down in this huge crash.
Roy, later on, did us a huge favor and tweeted out the video from the camera attached to his bike. Along with Roy, we hope that everyone is doing okay after this crash, but that is just amazing to watch how he manages to hug the barrier and make it through unscathed.
Watching this certainly makes you appreciate the physical toll that these bikers go through to compete in these kind of races and just how in shape you have to be. I would not question the toughness of these guys and my hat is off to you Jeremy Roy for having the awareness of your surroundings and almost without thinking being able to instinctively maneuver out of harm’s way and on to the finish line.
