3. Ground Game

The Patriots have one of the league’s most underrated defenses in the league and what makes them so special is the cornerback duo of Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner. Add in that Devin McCourty is a game-change and it’s easy to see why the Patriots are going to make it hard for Russell Wilson and Seattle’s passing game to move the football. That being said, the Seahawks are going to have to beat the Patriots by running the ball, and the good news for the Seahawks is that they were the league’s best running team in 2014.

Led by Marshawn Lynch and Wilson, the Seahawks have the league’s most dynamic backfield. Lynch is that powerful, down-hill running back that can beat you with his cutback ability, while Wilson is that shifty, speedy quarterback that can get around the edge in the read-option. To move the football and keep Brady off the field, the Seahawks will need to have success in the running game. The ability to win in the trenches could very well be the difference of this football game.
