5. Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves would be a very intriguing trade partner for the Indiana Pacers. Both teams are looking to re-tool for next season, and Roy Hibbert would be a nice fit for what Minnesota is looking to do.

His defensive ability and scoring potential is certainly the type of thing that would fit nicely around Andrew Wiggins. Nikola Pekovic would need to be included in any deal, but the Wolves would likely be willing to consider that. Indiana could also send an expiring contract in Chris Copeland to the Timberwolves, while taking Chase Budinger who has been wanting a trade from Minnesota.

Neither Hibbert or Pekovic are in the long-term plans for their respective teams, which would make a swap a potentially good move.

Minnesota isn’t all that close to being a contender in the Western Conference, but they would have a nice expiring deal coming off of the books in Hibbert after next season. Indiana would be getting a very talented center who would add more rebounding next season, and he isn’t as needy for usage on the offensive side of the basketball.
