#3. Boston Cocktail

The Boston Cocktail is an older recipe but good nonetheless. There’s a reason why we’re still drinking a lot of cocktails that were made back when gangsters wore fedoras and pinstripe suits instead of gold chains and ill fitting t-shirts. From About.com:

"A London dry gin and apricot brandy combine in the Boston Cocktail for a delightful little drink. The herbal aspects of the gin shine against the fruity sweetness of the brandy and grenadine, while the lemon balances everything out with a bit of tart. The finished flavor is a little more on the sweet side than some people may enjoy."

I’m not sure what a whole lot of that means but it sure makes for a delicious cocktail.

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 ounce dry gin
• 1 1/2 ounce apricot brandy
• 1/4 ounce grenadine
• Juice of 1/2 a lemon

Preparation

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Like any of these other drinks, you can also just have it over ice and in whatever receptacle you have. Just resist the urge to pour it straight into your mouth.
