The Minnesota Timberwolves trolled the Atlanta Hawks through the Spotify music service in advance of their Monday night matchup.

The Timberwolves are clearly looking forward to playing the Hawks on Monday night and hoping to add to their three game winning streak. They decided to have a little fun trolling one the NBA‘s best teams, by sending a message to the Hawks, in the form of a Spotify playlist.

The message reads as follows:

"“Oh, Atlanta. Everybody wants to rule the world, but honestly you will see we are born to run. No matter what happens, we love you and always will. Regardless, we got to get four on the floor. Our time is coming, we are hungry, and the Wolves won’t back down.Sincerely, The Wolfpack”"

The Timberwolves actually took a cue from the Hawks using Spotify to send a message to their fans last week, so it isn’t like they were completely original on this one.  Maybe there’s just something about the Hawks that attracts trolling. After beating the Hawks on Sunday, the Memphis Grizzlies shot out a pretty clever jab on Twitter to their defeated foes.

"Good game Haks (No #W tonight)"

Of course, the harsh reality for Minnesota is that they sit 11-40 on the season with one of the worst records in the league, while the Hawks are 42-10 and have the second best record in the league right now, behind the Golden State Warriors. The Timberwolves are on a three game winning streak, having beat the Pistons, Grizzlies and Heat to start February. The Hawks are coming off a loss to the Grizzlies after previously beating the Warriors to briefly secure best record in the league.

It doesn’t get easier for the Timberwolves after playing the Hawks either. They have to face the Warriors on Wednesday before the break. If Minnesota manages to close out the first half by beating these top two teams, well, they certainly have something to brag about, even if their record doesn’t exactly cut it.
