Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio made a sweet no-look pass to keep the ball in bounds which led to a runaway basket.

The Minnesota Timberwolves aren’t having many highlights this season, which is nothing new, but point guard Ricky Rubio offered fans a little razzle dazzle in their recent home game.

In one move, he kept a bouncing ball from falling out of bounds off a teammate, put said ball in the hands of another teammate and, well, see for yourself.

Now that’s what slick mitts look like.

Rubio sends that ball launching behind his back, over surrounding defenders and square into the hands of a teammate ready to make an easy layup.

Unfortunately that sweet pass wasn’t enough for the Timberwolves to overcome the visiting Golden State Warriors, who pulled off a 94-91 victory in battle between the best team and the worst team in the Western Conference of the NBA.

The loss dropped Minnesota to an 11-42 record, which is one game better than the league-worst New York Knicks. Still, plays like this from Rubio and the emerging play of Andrew Wiggins offer hope for the future in Minnesota.

With another player to be drafted in the top of the pool this summer, the Timberwolves could be making the slow march back to respectability.
