Russell Westbrook missed an easy dunk in the closing seconds of the first quarter of the NBA All-Star game

Russell Westbrook rose up for an easy dunk, but instead was stuffed by the rim robbing him of two points. A very uncharacteristic mistake for one of the NBA’s premiere high-flyers.

Russell Westbrook was quoted earlier this week saying “I only dunk on people.” Apparently Russ took this a little too literally. There wasn’t anyone in front of him as he rose up, so he must have thought to himself “This isn’t dunking on anyone, so I have to miss it.”

If there was one game out of the entire year to miss a dunk, this is probably it. The Western Conference All-Stars are not having any trouble scoring the basketball, and everyone knows that no one really starts trying until the fourth quarter. So maybe its a good thing that he missed it tonight so early in the game.
