NBA Trade Deadline: Top 8 NBA deals we all want to see happen, that probably won’t
Nuggets’ Ty Lawson to the Boston Celtics
It seems as the trade deadline gets closer, the more rumors about the Denver Nuggets start surfacing. After all, they have not been as successful this season as they have been in years past. With that being said, it seems that whole rebuilding phase is going to kick in after the season is over for the Nuggets.
They have already expressed interest in getting rid of forward’s Arron Affalo and Wilson Chandler for some first round draft picks. While these deals may or may not go through, it is important for the Nuggets to realize the return they might get for their point guard, Ty Lawson.
While the point guard stock is relatively low approaching the trade deadline (due to the abundance of them on the market), this little guard with quick bursts and phenomenal passing ability is any team’s dream. Something that should intrigue NBA fans would be the possibility of Ty Lawson landing in Boston.
The Celtics are flirting with their first playoff berth since Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett left. With their recent deal that sent Rajon Rondo to the Mavericks, the Celtics might be looking for someone to run their offense.
In a weak Eastern Conference, anything can happen. And while this doesn’t necessarily de-rail their rebuilding process behind second year coach Brad Stevens, it might give Celtic’s fans a little something to get excited about moving forward.
Unfortunately this trade will probably never come to fruition. While the advantages in acquiring Lawson are huge and the Nuggets looking for some future draft picks, Lawson is probably too key of a component to their team to get rid of just yet. He is still 27 years young and has quite a bright future ahead.
Not to mention that the Nuggets organization does have to give their fans some reason to go to games if they get rid of Wilson Chandler and Arron Affalo. The Celtics might not have quite enough bargaining power to land this hot product, but the idea of it is still exciting.
