NBA Trade Deadline: Top 8 NBA deals we all want to see happen, that probably won’t
Brook Lopez to Milwaukee
Where did the Milwaukee Bucks come from? They went from a league worst, 15-67 to the 6th best team in the East at 30-23.
They did draft a high-profile forward in Jabari Parker and sign Jason Kidd as head coach. But to think that I would be talking about a playoff-ready Bucks team at the All-Star break is astonishing.
So as the Bucks put their eyes on what damage they can do in the playoffs, they might as well look at the trading block to see if there is any extra component they can snag at a good price.
Brook Lopez might be just the thing they need. After the Nets abysmal start to the season, rumors of clearing house are starting to become be more and more realistic. Brook Lopez is at the top of contracts the Nets are wanting to get rid of. The Denver Nuggets have noted their interest in Lopez, and rumors have been flying between these two teams ever since.
But if you look at the Bucks roster and where their weaknesses are, it is clear that Lopez would be a perfect fit in Milwaukee.
The Bucks are getting some surprising production out of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brandon Knight. But they are really lacking depth at the big man position.
A presence inside such as Lopez beside ZaZa Pachulia, could be deadly. This would also give Jason Kidd the option of brining Jared Dudley off the bench to increase scoring within the second unit.
It sounds like a match made in heaven to me. The Net’s get cap room, a couple free draft picks, and potentially O.J. Mayo. Not a bad sounding deal for both teams. Yet another team like the Nuggets might have more to offer the Nets.
Unfortunately, we will probably not get to see Brook Lopez’s goofy looking afro next to Pachulia anytime soon.
