2015 NHL Playoffs: Derick Brassard puts Rangers on the board 30 seconds into Game 1

New York Rangers center Derick Brassard netted a goal less than 30 seconds into the team’s first-round series-opening game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Well, that didn’t take long.
Less than 30 seconds into their first-round series-opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the New York Rangers opened up a 1-0 lead thanks to Derick Brassard.
The center netted a goal 28 seconds into the game off the rebound set up by a Rick Nash slapshot.
Take a look at the quick goal for yourself below:
That’s a pretty poor effort from Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, as he pretty much handed Brassard the goal with his poor rebound.
The Penguins can’t be making those types of mistakes in a series they were considered heavy underdogs entering.
But credit still should go to Brassard for taking advantage of the opportunity. This marks the second consecutive game in which he’s scored a goal, as he netted one in New York’s regular season finale as well.
