6. The Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets made a blockbuster deal before the 2013 season that sent four future draft picks to the Celtics in exchange Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Jason Terry. Teaming these three veterans up with Deron Williams and Joe Johnson seemed to be one of the most stacked squads in basketball.

Turns out, everyone was just way too old to figure out how to play on a new team.

Two seasons later, the Brooklyn Nets have blown up most of their team and are going to miss the playoffs for the sixth time in eight years. This year, we are starting to see the true colors show of all the super stars who landed in Brooklyn. Paul Pierce got shipped to Washington, Kevin Garnett got sent back to the Timberwolves, and we are starting to even see some decline in Deron Williams’ game.

The worst thing about this is that this team could have been a dynasty. So much talent hasn’t landed on the same team since the Lakers signed Gary Payton and Karl Malone in 2003. But unfortunately, all of that talented turned out to be a little too washed up to gain any success. And this year, it became more evident than ever that the only logical thing to do would be blow up this team and start rebuilding from the bottom up. It’s too bad the Celtics own some of their draft picks until 2018 though.
