5 reasons why it shouldn’t be ‘Super Bowl-or-bust’ for Colts’ Chuck Pagano
Pagano has only had two seasons
Not counting the first season where he was sidelines with illness, Pagano has a small, yet successful sample size to go from. To be fair, two seasons is often longer than many coaches get in the NFL. But Pagano reached the playoffs in both of those years with a young team that has holes in key spots (namely the running game on both sides of the ball).
The major concern with Pagano has been his inability to keep the Colts competitive when they play the New England Patriots. Perhaps a third straight year where the Colts are similarly blown out will be enough to convince the team to move on.
Perhaps an enormous contract for Pagano would not suit the Colts well, but the issues with the Patriots haven’t been motivation based, but rather talent based.
