5 reasons Steph Curry was the right choice for NBA MVP
5. Best player on the best team
While the Most Valuable Player is defined as the best player in the league who means the most to his team, it also entails being the best player on the best team — something Steph Curry is exactly.
Curry led last year’s 51-31 Warriors to the league’s best record this season, recording an impressive 67-15 mark. No one thought after a change of coaches from Jackson to Steve Kerr would do anything but help the team get a couple extra wins. The expectations were the same as the year before, but the league MVP came in and smashed all expectations bestowed upon him, winning 67 games and taking the most coveted crown, besides NBA champ, home to his trophy case.
League sources say he will be named the MVP on Monday between Western Conference semis Game 1 and Game 2, but they might as well just come out and say it now.
This guy is so deserving of the award as he has worked so hard to be where he is today and he does it so gracefully, making everything look so darn easy.
If you’re looking for the best player on the best team in the league, you won’t find James Harden, Russell Westbrook or LeBron James, you’ll find Steph Curry.
