Will Doug McDermott end up being worth two first round picks for?

Way back when in 2014, the Chicago Bulls traded for Doug McDermott with both the 16th and 19th first round draft picks in the NBA draft that year. It seemed that the Chicago Bulls were going to take a chance on the man who could score the ball better than anyone at the college level. Since then, McDermott has seen minimal time in the games he has been healthy, and was also sidelined for the majority of the year with injury after injury.

It’s no question that McDermott can be a prolific scorer in the NBA. During the summer league last year where the rookies competed against one another and in spurts this past season we saw that Dougie McD can put the ball in the bucket.

It’s a rare skill that not many have, so Bulls fans are going to want to see that put into action this up coming season. If he does pan out, it will definitely have been worth it to get rid of two picks for him. If not, it will just be another chapter in the long book of disappointments the Bulls have seen since Michael Jordan left all those years ago.
