7. Xander Bogaerts-SS-Boston Red Sox: Bogaerts and the Red Sox lineup scored a season-high ten runs last night in a horrible loss to the Blue Jays in which they blew a 8-1 lead.  This afternoon, they’ll try to keep their bats going against knuckleballer R.A. Dickey.  Bogaerts has had success against him in the past going 7-17 (.412) with a pair of doubles and two RBI.

6. Ryan Goins-SS-Toronto Blue Jays: Goins filled in well for Jose Reyes at SS and has now returned to 2B for the most part, so see where he’s eligible in your format.  He makes a solid value today based on his 7-17 (.412) career mark against today’s starter Clay Buchholz.  Those seven hits include a double and a triple and have resulted in four RBI.

5. Russell Martin-C-Toronto Blue Jays: Martin started last night’s comeback win for the Blue Jays and played a pivotal role in their nine-run rally.  He may get the day off today in favor of Josh Thole, but if he starts you need to get him in your lineup based on his history against Clay Buchholz.  Martin is only 5-16 (.313) against Buchholz in the past but four of those hits have been home runs, and he has seven RBI to go with them as well.

4. David Ortiz-DH-Boston Red Sox: While Ortiz numbers are still dramatically down he has shown some signs of life lately.  The big concern is that he can’t get around on quality fastballs, but that shouldn’t play in today as he takes on the Blue Jays’ starter knuckleballer R.A. Dickey.  Ortiz is 8-23 (.348) against Dickey in the past with a pair of doubles, a pair of home runs, and seven RBI.
