WWE Money In The Bank 2015: Preview and predictions
Divas Championship Match: Nikki Bella (c) vs. Paige
Paige faced Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship on the June 1 episode of RAW, but fell victim to Twin Magic. Brie came in to score the victory for Nikki and cost Paige her shot at the title. Paige’s complaint regarding that match, though, landed her another shot at the title at Money In The Bank.
We’ve seen Paige and Nikki go at it before, most recently as two participants in a Triple Threat match for the title at Elimination Chamber with Naomi being the third party. Nikki obviously retained the title in that match, thus muddling the waters as to what WWE Creative’s direction for the Divas division is going to be.
While putting the belt back on Paige and then bringing up an NXT Diva to build to a big match at Summerslam would make sense, the powers at be in WWE seem to be hesitant to take the title off of Nikki. I think they do it here, though, with Paige coming out victorious and becoming the new Divas Champion.
Intercontinental Championship Match: Ryback (c) vs. Big Show
Ryback won the Elimination Chamber Match to capture the vacant Intercontinental Championship just two weeks ago. The move came as a surprise to many, but “The Big Guy” has seemed locked in both on the microphone and in the ring since emerging from that match as the victor.
As for how Big Show became involved, he returned to WWE television when he came out on the June 1 RAW and attacked both The Miz and Ryback. The feud continued to this past Monday on RAW as Big Show wants to show Ryback the true meaning of being a “big guy.” It seems pretty clear that Creative rushed this storyline a bit given that they only had two weeks to tell it.
That being said, this is a huge opportunity for Ryback to get himself over with the crowd even further. If he can go out and show off his power against the actual biggest guy in the company, that will do a lot for making him look like the powerhouse he’s billed as. I don’t see any way that Ryback doesn’t go over in this match, likely with some feats of strength on Big Show to seal the win.
