Star Options

Atlanta Braves. vs Nationals. Shelby Miller. 5. player. 17. Miller has impressed in his first season with Atlanta going 5-3 with a 1.94 ERA in his 15 starts.  He has been especially good at home where he is 2-2 with a 1.59 ERA.  He also had success in his previous start against the Nats going seven innings and allowing just one run on three hits.  He doesn’t have quite the strikeout rate of Gerrit Cole or Cole Hamels, but all signs point to a strong outing for Miller today against Washington.

Hamels was roughed up in his last outing allowing five runs in five innings to the Yankees.  Overall, though, he has put together a solid season with a 3.26 ERA and a 5-6 record while striking out 106 in 99.1 innings.  A few of the Brewers have given him trouble in the past (Braun and Lucroy), but I still expect a solid start from Hamels tonight as he looks to bounce back from that rough outing in the Bronx.. Philadelphia Phillies. vs Brewers. Cole Hamels. 4. player. 6

3. player. 135. Keuchel is having a breakout season and is coming off a complete game shutout against the Yankees in which he struck out a dozen batters.  Keuchel was coming off his worst start of the season, so he isn’t a lock for today. However, he is a great option given his 2.17 ERA and his 0.96 WHIP. The Royals don’t strike out a ton, so don’t expect a pile of K’s, but Keuchel is still one of then better options as he should be able to get a win at home against Danny Duffy.  At home this season, Keuchel is 7-0 with a 1.39 ERA and 62 K’s in 64.2 innings.. Houston Astros. vs Royals. Dallas Keuchel

Gerrit Cole. 2. player. 4. Cole had his string of eight straight quality starts snapped in his last outing when he gave up five runs in 4.2 innings in a loss to the Reds.  He’ll take on the Tigers at Comerica Park tonight as he looks to get back on track, and I expect a good performance against hitters who don’t have much history against his Ace-level stuff.  Cole is 11-3 on the season with a seller 2.16 ERA and has picked up 102 strikeouts in his 95.2 innings this year.. Pittsburgh Pirates. @ Tigers
