3. Elvis Andrus-SS-Texas Rangers: Last night, the Rangers snapped their five-game losing streak with a win over the visiting Padres.  Tonight, they’ll look to keep it going as they take on San Diego Ace James Shields.  Elvis Andrus has a good history against Shields with a 13-30 (.433) career record against him including two doubles, two triples, and two RBI.

More from Boston Red Sox

2. Jason Heyward-OF-St. Louis Cardinals: Heyward went 1-4 last night in the Cardinals 5-2 loss to the Pirates, but he’ll look to help them bounce back tonight against A. J. Burnett. Heyward is 7-17 (.412) in his career against Burnett with a pair of homers and four RBI.

1. Yoenis Cespedes-OF-Detroit Tigers: While Miguel Cabrera has been sidelined, Yoenis Cespedes has been doing all he can to carry the Tigers offense.  Last night, it was the Detroit bullpen which imploded in the ninth to waste a good offensive day in their 8-6 loss in Minnesota.  As they try and turn things around today, they’ll face Phil Hughes which should set up well for Cespedes who is 6-12 (.500) in his career against Hughes with three doubles, a triple, and a home run.
