Turbo Lineup

SP-Collin McHugh-Houston Astros: McHugh has been a roller coaster ride on his way to a 9-5 record with a 4.50 ERA. He pitched well against Texas earlier this year (6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 4K) and is one of the best value options in this time slot.

SP-Noah Syndergaard-New York Mets: Syndergaard ended the first half with a sparkling performance on Friday against the D-Backs allowing on run on four hits in eight innings while striking out 13.  He has to face the Cardinals on the road tonight, but he has allowed just one earned run in four of his last five starts and has enough strikeout potential to be a good option even in a bad matchup.

C-Francisco Cervelli-Pittsburgh Pirates: Cervelli has been a solid backstop for the Bucs this season.  He has a hit in six of the last nine games he has started, and he should be able to keep it going in a good matchup against Mike Fiers and the Brewers.

1B-Eric Hosmer-Kansas City Royals: Hosmer is 8-25 (.320) in his career against John Danks and will likely get the start even though this is the second game of the double-header. Check that he’s in the lineup tonight, but feel free to use him in yours after he has started July 13-45 (.295) with three doubles and five RBI.

2B-Neil Walker-Pittsburgh Pirates: Walker is 8-16 (.500) with three doubles against Brewers’ starter Mike Fiers in his career. While his power numbers haven’t been great, he hits for a solid average and is a good start tonight.

3B-Daniel Murphy-New York Mets: Murphy is 6-14 against Lance Lynn in his career as he takes on the Cardinals righty tonight in St. Louis.  Murphy hit in three straight games heading into the break and the Mets need his offense to pick up for the second half.

SS-Carlos Correa-Houston Astros: Correa has the potential to be a great play in any game he starts, and I think the Astros will take it to Martin Perez tonight making him a good play in Houston. He’s hitting .276 but 17 of his 37 hits have been for extra bases and he already has seven Major League home runs in just 32 games.

OF-Carlos Gomez-Milwaukee Brewers: Gomez lost his five game hitting streak the day before the All Star break but he is still hitting .282 (11-39) this month with three homers and 15 RBI. He is 5-11 in his career against tonight’s Pirates’ starter Charlie Morton.

OF-Gerardo Parra-Milwaukee Brewers

OF-Alex Rios-Kansas City Royals: Rios has gone 12-38 (.316) to start the month and has hit safely in each of his last four games.  He is only 3-17 against John Danks in his career, but Danks has struggled so much this season that I think Rios will turn that around tonight.
