Joe Philbin – Miami Dolphins

Since taking over the Dolphins in 2012, Joe Philbin has had Miami on the right track and showing progress from year to year. He’s helped usher in Ryan Tannehill as the team’s franchise quarterback and seen the growth of Lamar Miller in the backfield

However, the wins just haven’t come with that progress made with the personnel, and the Dolphins have failed to make a single postseason under Philbin. While some may see that as a product of playing the same division with the powerhouse New England Patriots, that may not fly when it comes to justifying one’s job to one’s bosses.

When Philbin was hired away from the Green Bay Packers, he came over with high expectations and thus far, his offensive prowess has been effective. Unfortunately, the Dolphins took a big step backwards defensively last season, when they ranked 20th in points allowed after finishing 8th the year prior.

Miami will give Philbin one last chance and gave him the opportunity to see some drastic improvements by adding Ndamukong Suh to sure up the defensive line and brought in Greg Jennings, Kenny Stills, and Devante Parker to give Tannehill some solid targets in the passing game.

Still, winning in 2015 will be tremendously difficult, especially with the rest of the AFC East reloading as well. Philbin will have his task cut out for him if he wants to write a winning season and ensure he’s still on the sideline in 2016.
