Leonard Hankerson-Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons wide receiving corps is limping into the regular season which has opened the door for Leonard Hankerson to emerge as a fantasy football sleeper who is definitely worth a look in the late rounds of your draft or on the waiver wire.

Hankerson came to Atlanta this offseason to reunite with new Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan who coached him in Washington.  He was a star early in Atlanta’s camp, and he has continued to excel throughout the preseason with seven catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.

It’s definitely worth noting that most of his production has come with Julio Jones and Roddy White on the sidelines, and that he projects to be the third WR solidly behind both Jones and White once they return.  While Jones is definitely an elite option, White has struggled the last few years and had surgery on his elbow this preseason.  White is expected to return for week one, but his health could hold him back like it did last season.

If either White or Jones misses time, Hankerson would be in a place to contribute as a flex option immediately, and his field-stretching speed definitely makes him worth a look as a late round WR flier.
