Marvin Jones-Cincinnati Bengals

While he has a ways to go, there are encouraging signs that Marvin Jones is set up to return to being a fantasy factor this season. Jones is attempting to come back from missing all of last season after sustaining a foot injury in training camp. Before the injury, Jones had an impressive 2014 with 712 yards on 51 catches.  Fantasy football owners will remember his four-touchdown outburst against the Jets in week eight of that season when he had a season-high eight catches for 122 yards.

Jones has a very high ceiling, but in his absence the Bengals did find creative ways to use Mohamed Sanu and Giovani Bernard in their receiving game.  For Jones to be worth a roster spot in fantasy football, he’ll need to re-establish himself as the Bengals starting WR opposite All-Pro A.J. Green.

Reports out of camp have been encouraging for Jones with OC Hue Jackson saying he’s returning to form.  He caught a touchdown from A.J. McCarron in the first half of Preseason week 3 after Andy Dalton left with a minor neck injury, and Jones ultimately finished with two catches for 35 yards and could have had a much better line if a 43-yard gain hadn’t been called back due to offensive holding.

Jones is a flier pick still until he proves he is fully back from his injury, but right now he is the 70th WR being drafted behind options with much less upside.  If you are looking for a late round WR who has some success in the past and should again contribute if healthy, give Marvin Jones a look.
