Afternoon Spotlight: As the Cubs take on the Cards this afternoon, there are a couple of nice matchups to attack.  Lance Lynn will be on the hill for St. Louis which set up for Starlin Castro-SS (13-37, 3 2b, 3b, 5 RBI) and Dexter Fowler-OF (5-12, 2b, HR, 3 RBI) to be solid plays in season-long leagues or daily options that start at 2:20 today.

15. Paul Goldschmidt-1B-Arizona Diamondbacks: In the NL West, the D-Backs are visiting the World Champions in San Francisco for a weekend series starting tonight. They’ll take on World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner tonight, but it’s not necessarily a bad matchup for Goldschmidt who is 10-36 (.278) against him in his career with three doubles, a pair of home runs, and six RBI.

14. Aaron Hill-3B-Arizona Diamondbacks: Another D-Backs batter which eerily similar numbers to Goldschmidt is Aaron Hill who is 10-35 (.286) with three doubles, two homers, and six RBI against Madison Bumgarner.  If Hill can overcome his hamstring injury and get back in the lineup, he’ll be a nice play tonight by the bay.

13. Carlos Santana-1B-Cleveland Indians: The Indians are trying to hang in the Wild Card standings, but they’ll need a good series this weekend against the White Sox as they continue their push. Tonight, they have to take on Chris Sale which is a tough task, but Carlos Santana has had some success against Sale going 11-33 (.333) with a double and five RBI in their previous meetings.
