We don’t know what Kevin Durant’s plans might be when he’s a free agent next summer, but John Wall is ready to help the Washington Wizards recruit him.

With $20,158,622 million, the Oklahoma City Thunder are holding on to former MVP and four-time scoring champ Kevin Durant for the 2015-16 season. After that, there’s no way of guaranteeing where he may end up when he becomes a free agent next summer. The top theory that seems to have been buzzing around the internet and among basketball fans for some time, though, is that he’ll head home to Washington D.C. to join the Wizards. If there’s even a chance that could be the case, All-Star point guard John Wall is ready to help his team in the recruiting process.

As John Wall told Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, he’s ready to recruit Kevin Durant and pitch what the Wizards have to offer when the times comes in the summer of 2016. Here’s what Washington’s best player had to say about the matter.

"“There’s gonna be an opportunity to throw a pitch at him to try to get him to come back home. But I know one thing of just knowing him he’s going to be very focused on taking care of Oklahoma City this season, and I’m going to be focused on taking care of the Washington Wizards. But when the time is right and he can get away from all that, yeah, we’ll probably have some conversation and throw a pitch.”"

While it’s clear Wall is willing to do what he can to help his Wizards sign one of the most talented scorers in NBA history, he wasn’t unrealistic in his expectation of what could happen. Other than suggestions that Kevin Durant may be interested in going home, there have been no concrete reports yet that he’s even considering leaving Oklahoma City.

Essentially, the only person who has any idea where Durant may end up next summer is Durant himself. And even he won’t even be thinking about it right now as he prepares for a comeback season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, who finally have the blessing of full health for the 2015-16 season.

Furthermore, Durant has never once shied away from expressing how much the Thunder mean to him and how much he strives for them to win.

With Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka and Enes Kanter, Kevin Durant is surrounded by a trio that provides him with a great combination of terrifying explosiveness, offense, and defense. Along with the team’s solid bench, it’s a core of serious talent that few other franchises currently possess. When healthy, Westbrook and Durant may be two of the top five players in the league, while Ibaka is one of the best defensive big men in the game today.

So, when considering his option to just stay put with the Thunder, it would be far more than just loyalty to his team; it would make perfect sense, too.

Kevin Durant told Revolt TV this April (as was reported by Royce Young of ESPN), that he truly loves his situation in Oklahoma.

"“I love it here, man. I love my teammates, I love the city, I don’t really think about anywhere else,” Durant told Revolt TV in a recent interview. “I hear it [free agency rumors] all the time, don’t get me wrong, and once you hear it you’re kind of like [looks up, thinking]. But for me, I love staying in the moment, and I’m one of those guys that would love to stick it out with one team my whole career.”"

It’s all well and good that John Wall and the Wizards may desperately recruit Durant next summer, but until the Thunder show any signs of being far from contention, or we see any sense of discomfort appear from the star small forward, there’s no way to predict that he’ll even go anywhere.

For all we know, Kevin Durant may just spend his career with one team as he’s already mentioned. So, until something happens to prove otherwise, we can’t predict that any other team even has much of a chance at signing him.
