High Priced Quarterbacks

Aaron Rodgers (7,900): If you have the cash to spend on a high-priced QB, Rodgers is the way to go as he and the Packers head his native California to take on the 49ers. In the first three games of the season, Rodgers has thrown for ten touchdowns and no interceptions while leading the Pack to a 3-0 start.  San Francisco’s defense has been shredded the last two weeks by Big Ben and Carson Palmer, so look for another big game for Rodgers.  He’s an easy and expensive pick this week, but one that is almost sure to deliver.

Cam Newton (7,000): Newton continues to lead Carolina to impressive wins despite a depleted receiving corps.  He posted 32.9 DraftKings points last week throwing for 315 yards and a pair of touchdowns while adding a rushing touchdown against the Saints. This week his matchup is even better as he takes on the Bucs in Tampa.  Newton will again rely heavily on Greg Olsen as his top target, but I also think he’ll find some room to rush as he looks to help the Panthers improve to 4-0.

Matt Ryan (6,900): Like the other two QB’s on this list, Ryan will also look to help his team stay unbeaten as he and the Falcons return home for their first game in the dome since their week 1 Monday Night Football win over the Eagles.  In each of the Falcons first three games, Ryan has at least 34 passing attempts and at least 275 passing yards.  This week he’ll have to deal with J.J. Watt and the Texans defense, but Houston is in the bottom third of the league in defending against opposing fantasy QB’s despite playing three games against QB’s with less passing prowess than Ryan.

Week 3 picks: Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Carson Palmer
