High Priced Wide Receivers

Julio Jones (9,300): With Antonio Brown losing Big Ben, Jones is clearly the top fantasy WR coming into this week.  He is a target monster (20 passes his direction last week) and has at least 29 DraftKings points in each of his three games this season.  He’s on the injury report with hamstring and toe issues, but as long as he suits up Sunday against Houston, he’s the best receiver money can buy.

A.J. Green (7,600): No team in the NFL has given up more DraftKings points to opposing wide receivers than the Kansas City Chiefs. Last week, that made Randall Cobb a great play and he delivered a nice payout for my team on Monday Night Football with three touchdowns.  This week, it’s A.J. Green’s turn to take on the Chiefs struggling secondary, and he’s coming off a huge game of his own against the Ravens last week. Green caught ten passes for 227 yards and a pair of touchdowns last week, and he’ll look to keep things rolling this week in another good matchup at home this week.

DeAndre Hopkins (7,300): Hopkins got through the league’s concussion protocol in time to suit up on Sunday and finished with 101 yards and a touchdown in the Texans win over Tampa. He is definitely the most often targeted Houston receiver, and since I expect the Texans to be throwing from behind against Atlanta, he should have a solid game.  The return of Arian Foster may take some of the offensive burden off of Hopkins, but it will also prevent opposing defenses from stacking things against him as well.

Jordan Matthews (6,600): Matthews had under 50 yards last week in a tough matchup against the Jets, but he should be lined up for a bounce back against the Redskins.  He’s definitely Sam Bradford’s top target and if the Eagles get things rolling Matthews will be ready for blastoff.

Amari Cooper (6,300): Cooper has adjusted to life in the NFL just fine after Adam Jones knocked him around in week 1.  In the last two games with Derek Carr under center, Cooper has totaled 15 catches for 243 yards and a touchdown.  He’s in a good matchup against the Bears this week, and he’s a bargain for his 6,300 price as a top receiver on an improving offense in a good matchup.

Week 3 Picks: Antonio Brown, Randall Cobb, Julian Edelman, Brandon Marshall
