Winners: Oklahoma Sooners (No. 10; Up From No. 15)

Baylor or TCU? Bears or Horned Frogs? Who’s going to win the Big 12? Who’s the College Football Playoff going to ultimately look at with googly eyes?

Yeah, don’t look now, but the Oklahoma Sooners are on a quest to take their conference back and they’re taking on this mission quite well to start.

After their win on Saturday over West Virginia, the Sooners were vaulted into the Top 10 and rightfully so. That was not a bad Mountaineers team they defeated on Saturday afternoon. That was a squad that, on defense, was allowing just 7.7 points per game. When all was said and done, this Sooners team hung 44 points on them, which was a definitive statement that they want to be recognized as one of the best in the conference as well.

While Baylor and TCU are still ahead of them in the rankings, if the Sooners keep up this type of play, they’ll be completing that mission of taking back the Big 12 Conference and possibly heading off to be one of the College Football Playoff participants.
