P- Noah Syndergaard

We don’t know how long the Dark Knight may be able to go for in the playoffs. However, Gotham will at least have an Avenger in their rotation in Thor. If the New York Mets are going to make some noise in their first postseason since 2006, Noah Syndergaard is going to have to step up as their number two starter in the upcoming series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

We don’t know how long Matt Harvey will be able to pitch into the playoffs. We don’t know if Steven Matz or Bartolo Colon will be in the playoff rotation. A lot is going to be on the shoulders of Syndergaard and Jacob deGrom.

Syndergaard came up and replaced Dillon Gee in the Mets rotation this season. He went 9-7 in 24 starts with a 3.24 ERA. He struck out 166 in 150 innings.  He was either really good or okay depending on the month. Three of the five months he was up he had an ERA under 3.00.

The thing you have to watch for with Syndergaard, like Carlos Correa, is his home road splits, which makes it interesting that if the series were to go five he could pitch two games in LA.

Syndergaard went 2-5 with a 4.23 ERA as opposed to 7-2 with a 2.46 ERA at the friendly confines of Citi Field. If the Mets are going to make any noise in the playoffs, Thor will have to drop his mighty hammer of a curveball quite a bit.
