DT. Florida. Jonathan Bullard. 29. player. 44. Everything lines up perfectly for Jonathan Bullard and the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta is playing great ball and will be in a late position to draft; Bullard is an incredible talent whose biggest fault will be entering a stacked class. Yet, if anyone knows about Bullard’s upside, it’s Dan Quinn. He did recruit the lineman out of high school after all.

Prior to his head coaching duty with the Falcons and defensive coordinator stint with the Seattle Seahawks, Quinn served as defensive coordinator for the Florida Gators during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. During that time, he helped land some of the nation’s top defensive recruits, including Bullard – a 5-star talent out of North Carolina, who was the No. 1 strong-side defensive end in the 2012 class and No. 12 overall player in the country.

During his tenure with the Gators, Bullard has been a force off the edge. Through six games this season he has essentially lived in the backfield, registering 9.5 tackles for a loss – including 4.5 sacks per game.

All great teams are built through the trenches, and with a defensive-minded coach like Quinn Atlanta will be no different. The Falcons stepped out last year and snagged Vic Beasley in the first round; look for them to further bolster the defense in the first round before diving deep into the secondary during later rounds.
