Alright, do we sometimes take the Joe Flacco jokes a little too far? Yes, maybe we tend to do that from time to time, but you also have to admit that the Ravens quarterback a lot of times does nothing to really help himself in getting people off of his case. Sunday afternoon against the San Francisco 49ers, he did nothing on one play to calm down the jokes.

In the third quarter of this one, Flacco and the Ravens found themselves down 16-6 and trying to get on the comeback trail. On a first down play in San Francisco territory, Flacco dropped back to throw and, well, things didn’t really go all that swimmingly.

Actually, it was downright terrible because he gave us an arm punt for the ages. An arm punt on first down, no less.

He had no intention of really getting that ball to anyone. He literally just dropped back and heaved it down the middle of the field, which is pretty much something that you’re taught in pee-wee. Don’t do this, like, ever. Because he did, Kenneth Acker benefited by being the one to catch the ball, which is definitely not the ideal thing the Ravens needed to happen there.
