5. Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are in the midst of a disappointing season at 3-4. The only team behind them in their division are the Dallas Cowboys who have been struggling through their season without quarterback Tony Romo. Still, the Eagles are only a half game out of first place due to the ineptitude of their division rivals, so if they play their cards right, they could be playoff contenders.

One weak link has been Sam Bradford who has has thrown 10 interceptions so far this year and only nine touchdowns. He also has four fumbles. He can’t blame his offensive line either. They have allowed only 13 sacks, compared to the 28 that the 49ers line has allowed so far this season.

What do these statistics indicate? They are a sign that the Eagles need a better quarterback. It is time to give up on Sam Bradford. The Eagles haven’t had a decent quarterback since Donovan McNabb who hasn’t been with the team since 2009.

Kaepernick is having one of the worst seasons of his year, but the Eagles need a change. Kaepernick has demonstrated he can play at a much higher level. Perhaps with the right coaching and offensive line, he could make a positive difference for the Eagles and revive his career.

An advantage of the Eagles for Kaepernick is that Philadelphia’s system could be simplified, allowing for an easier mid-season adjustment for a quarterback whose decision-making and intelligence has been criticized over the years.
