Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers aren’t afraid to spend money to fix potential problems. Should they decide to move on from Howie Kendrick, Daniel Murphy is a guy who the Dodgers could target. They also have some questions regarding third base. Justin Turner did fine there in 2015, but he’s most likely better off in a super utility role. Corey Seager could feasibly play third base, but he’s better off as a shortstop.

Murphy would help the Dodgers solve one of their two current infield vacancies at second base and third base. The Dodgers have a team that is extremely talented and certainly considered to be one of the favorites to win the World Series. Now that Murphy knows what it’s like to be a part of a special team, he would likely prefer to go to a team that gives him a great chance of winning a World Series.

Daniel Murphy would give the Dodgers a solid left handed bat at the top or bottom of their order. He’s a hitter who relies on contact and doesn’t strike out that often. That makes him a perfect fit for the Dodgers.

Even if Murphy got pushed out of a starting role with the Dodgers, the Dodgers likely wouldn’t mind having Murphy on their bench as a valuable pinch hitter and defensive replacement. They’re a team that doesn’t particularly care too much about their payroll anyway.

The Dodgers have shown that they will spare no expense when trying to win. Murphy would make the Dodgers a better team. The fit is quite obvious.
